It’s been about twenty years since I’ve been to a fair and Saturday was the first time I attended one in Seminole county. This year’s fair was held at an abandoned car dealership, which provided an interesting backdrop for brightly lit ticket booths, rides and games. My senses were overloaded with smells of cotton candy, candied apples, hamburgers, hotdogs, anything battered and deep fried. Loud pop music, laughter, squeaky rides, screams of joy and the beckoning of game attendants filled my ears. Everything was made to crab the attention of both the young and old. It’s a shame I didn’t stay longer.
I love going to photography Meetups because each one poses a different challenge. This particular meetup left me at a loss. I wasn’t sure which light to use, how to pose the models or how to compete with multiple photographers for an interesting shot.

Ten years ago I was a Specialist in the Army and fell in love with photography. When I was not performing mundane tasks, I spent most of my nights admiring the great photographs in National Geographic and I daydreamed about going to the places featured in the magazine. So when I got orders to be stationed in Korea, it felt like it was my calling. In the following months I bought my first SLR ( Minolta STSi), my first digicam (Canon Powershot G2) and explored my adventurous side.
I got inspired to photograph this delicious spice.
